Claim: Ammonium Nitrate, Fuel, and Detonators Used in Delhi Blast; Death Toll Rises to 12, PM Modi Vows ‘No One Will Be Spared’

New Delhi — Preliminary reports from investigative agencies have suggested that ammonium nitrate, fuel, and electronic detonators were used in the powerful blast that rocked Delhi on Tuesday. The explosion, which occurred in a crowded market area, has claimed 12 lives so far and left over 40 people injured, many of whom are in critical condition.

According to forensic officials, traces of ammonium nitrate and fuel residue were found at the site, indicating a high-intensity improvised explosive device (IED). Teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Delhi Police’s Special Cell are jointly investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and the source of the explosives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while expressing deep grief over the tragic loss of lives, assured that the culprits will be brought to justice. “Those responsible for this heinous act will not be spared. The government stands with the victims and their families,” the Prime Minister said in a statement.

Security has been tightened across the capital, with major transit points, government offices, and public spaces placed under high alert. Intelligence agencies have been instructed to remain vigilant amid concerns about potential coordinated attacks.

Rescue operations continued late into the night as authorities cleared debris and searched for possible survivors. The injured have been admitted to AIIMS and LNJP hospitals, where emergency medical teams are providing continuous support.

Officials said more updates will be shared once forensic results and CCTV footage analyses are complete.
