New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday revealed that over 100 terrorists were neutralized during India’s high-precision military action conducted under Operation Sindoor, marking one of the most significant counter-terror operations in recent years.
Speaking at a security review meeting in the capital, Singh emphasized that the strikes were a necessary and calibrated response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead, including civilians and a Nepali national.
“Our forces acted with precision and purpose. Over 100 terrorists, who were actively planning attacks on Indian soil, have been eliminated,” the Defence Minister stated.
Precision Strikes with Minimal Collateral Damage
The multi-force operation, launched in the early hours of May 7, targeted several terror launchpads and infrastructure hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The strikes were carefully designed to avoid civilian harm and focused solely on areas harboring extremist elements.
According to military sources, Indian intelligence had been tracking these targets for weeks. The synchronized effort involved the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy working together in one of the most complex operations executed in recent times.
India Sends a Clear Message
The Defence Minister made it clear that India’s action should not be seen as a provocation, but rather as a firm assertion of its right to self-defense.
“We will not tolerate any threat to the lives of our people. The message is clear—those who plan attacks on India will face consequences,” Singh said.
Nation on High Alert
Following the operation, India has stepped up security across the country, especially in border regions. Emergency drills, increased military patrolling, and public advisories are being issued to keep citizens informed and prepared.
An all-party meeting is scheduled soon to update political leaders and ensure a unified national stance in the wake of the operation.
