India’s southwest monsoon is expected to make its onset over the southern state of Kerala in the coming week, according to recent weather assessments. At the same time, large parts of central and northwestern India continue to experience intense heat conditions. The India Meteorological Department has issued heatwave alerts for multiple states, including Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, along with several others.
According to officials, at least 10 states are likely to face heatwave conditions over the next seven days, with temperatures expected to remain significantly above normal levels. Authorities have advised residents to take necessary precautions, such as avoiding direct sun exposure during peak hours and staying adequately hydrated.
