India has firmly rejected any scope for third-party involvement in regional conflicts, reiterating that issues concerning New Delhi and Islamabad will be resolved bilaterally.
In a sharp statement, officials pointed to past experiences, particularly during Operation Sindoor, when Pakistan itself sought a ceasefire after suffering heavy losses. The reference was made to underline India’s long-standing position that no external mediation is required.
New Delhi emphasized that attempts by foreign powers or international organizations to mediate only complicate matters, while India remains committed to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial interests.
The remark comes at a time when global powers have been vocal about peace efforts in South Asia. However, India stressed that durable peace depends on Pakistan ending cross-border terrorism and adhering to agreements already in place.
Officials also added that while India is open to dialogue, it will only be conducted directly between the two countries, without intermediaries.
