Nationwide Conversion Racket Busted: ₹106 Crore Sent to Changur, 1500-Member Secret Team Targeted Young Women

A large-scale religious conversion network has been exposed in a joint investigation by central agencies, revealing a deep-rooted operation spread across five Indian states. At the center of the probe is a man identified as Changur, who allegedly received ₹106 crore in foreign funding through suspicious digital routes. The funds were reportedly used to facilitate mass conversions, primarily targeting women and girls under the age of 30.

According to officials familiar with the investigation, the operation involved a secret team of over 1,500 individuals working across Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Their method was subtle but systematic—approaching vulnerable women under the pretext of employment, education, or marriage, and eventually leading them into conversion using coded language and fabricated identities.

Authorities say that Changur acted as a key figure in the movement of funds and the strategic coordination of field workers. Large financial transfers were disguised using codewords, and transactions were often masked as donations for social work, NGOs, or development programs. However, surveillance and digital tracking reportedly uncovered a well-planned network with potential links to international sources.

Most of the women targeted were under 30, often from weaker socio-economic backgrounds. Officials say the network exploited emotional vulnerabilities and promised social security and better living conditions as part of its strategy to lure individuals into religious conversion.

Multiple arrests have been made so far, and more are expected as the investigation continues. Authorities are also examining possible violations under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and anti-conversion laws in respective states.

Singh News Media will keep tracking this high-profile investigation and provide further updates as they unfold.
