A strong earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia, causing panic among residents and damage in several areas. According to local authorities, at least 29 people sustained injuries due to falling debris and structural damage.
Emergency teams were immediately deployed to assist the injured and assess the extent of destruction. Many houses and buildings reported cracks, while some areas experienced temporary power outages.
Officials have urged residents to remain cautious, as aftershocks are likely to follow. Indonesia, situated on the Pacific “Ring of Fire,” is highly prone to earthquakes and volcanic activity, making preparedness a constant challenge for the nation.
