New Delhi/Sialkot: In a significant counter-offensive, the Border Security Force (BSF) has reportedly destroyed a terrorist launch pad located in Looni, a village in the Sialkot sector of Pakistan, late Monday night. The action is seen as part of India’s ongoing response under Operation Sindoor following recent provocations and terror attempts along the international border.
High-Precision Strike Neutralizes Threat
According to official sources, the BSF used high-precision weaponry to carry out a targeted strike after confirming the presence of heavily armed militants preparing to infiltrate into Indian territory. The launch pad, believed to be sheltering up to a dozen terrorists, was completely neutralized in the operation.
“Our surveillance units tracked suspicious activity for over 48 hours. Once intel was verified, the unit acted swiftly and decisively,” said a senior BSF officer on condition of anonymity.
Drone and Satellite Intel Key to Mission
The strike was reportedly aided by real-time drone footage and satellite surveillance, allowing Indian forces to precisely mark and eliminate the hideout. The facility, situated just a few kilometers from the international boundary, was being used to stage infiltration attempts into Jammu and Punjab sectors.
Escalating Tensions Post-Operation Sindoor
This development comes as part of a series of tactical strikes launched by India under Operation Sindoor, a large-scale counter-terror initiative launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack and continued attempts to destabilize border regions.
Security experts have described the BSF’s move as a “strong message” to terror handlers operating from across the border and an indication that India will no longer tolerate threats brewing at its doorstep.
Official Confirmation Awaited
While the BSF has not yet released an official statement on the strike, sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs have acknowledged the success of the mission. An official briefing is expected soon.
