Check-in System Glitches Disrupt Major Airports Across India: 42 Flights Cancelled in Bengaluru; Crowds at Hyderabad, Impact Felt in Delhi

Air travel across several Indian cities was disrupted on Friday after a nationwide technical issue affected the check-in and boarding systems of multiple airlines. The sudden system slowdown caused long queues, delays, and last-minute cancellations at major airports.

Bengaluru: 42 Flights Cancelled

Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru witnessed one of the worst impacts.
Airlines confirmed that at least 42 flights had to be cancelled, while several others were rescheduled due to the inability to complete check-in and baggage procedures on time.

Passengers reported waiting in line for more than an hour, with many missing their flights despite arriving early.

Hyderabad: Heavy Rush at Terminals

At Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, a massive crowd gathered at departure gates, as the system slowdown caused bottlenecks at check-in counters.
Airport authorities deployed additional staff to manage the rush, but long queues persisted throughout the day.

Delhi: Services Partially Affected

Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi also felt the impact, though the situation was comparatively better than in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Some airlines temporarily shifted to manual check-in procedures, leading to slower processing and minor delays in departures.

Cause Under Investigation

The exact cause of the nationwide disruption is still under assessment. Preliminary reports suggest a possible technical failure in a central server used by multiple airlines for check-in, baggage tagging, and boarding.

Authorities have assured passengers that efforts are underway to fully restore normal operations and minimize further delays.
