PM Modi Slams Congress-RJD Over Alleged Insult to His Mother, Calls for Public Protest and Apology to Chhath Maiya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hit out strongly at the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing leaders from both parties of using derogatory language against his mother. Speaking at a public rally, Modi said that the insult was not just directed at his family but was an attack on the dignity of every mother in the country.

“This is not only an abuse against my mother, but an insult to all mothers of India,” the Prime Minister declared, adding that such language reflects the mindset of the opposition. He accused the Congress-RJD alliance of repeatedly resorting to personal attacks instead of engaging in issue-based politics.

PM Modi invoked the reverence of Chhath Maiya, a deity worshipped during the traditional Chhath festival observed widely in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. He demanded that the opposition parties apologise to Chhath Maiya and seek forgiveness from the people of the country for their words.

In a sharp appeal to his supporters, Modi urged citizens to hold the opposition accountable. “Wherever you see these Congress or RJD leaders, confront them democratically and show your protest. The people of this country will not forgive those who insult Indian culture and the mothers of our land,” he said.

Political observers note that this controversy could escalate the ongoing war of words between the ruling BJP and the INDIA bloc opposition alliance as the campaign season intensifies. The BJP is expected to highlight this issue in rallies across Bihar and northern India, where the Chhath festival holds deep cultural and emotional significance.
