Ahmedabad Air India Plane Crash: Black Box Data Extraction in Progress, Says Govt

Singh News Media | June 23, 2025

Ahmedabad — Following the tragic crash of an Air India Dreamliner near Ahmedabad last week, aviation authorities confirmed that efforts to extract data from the flight’s black boxes are currently underway. The Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) were recovered from the wreckage within 48 hours of the incident.

According to officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), specialized teams are now working in coordination with forensic experts and aircraft engineers to retrieve crucial information about the aircraft’s final moments, including altitude, speed, system performance, and communication between the pilots.

“Data extraction is a complex and delicate process. We are proceeding carefully to preserve the integrity of all available evidence,” a senior DGCA official stated.

Preliminary Observations

Although the cause of the crash has not yet been officially determined, initial reports have ruled out weather-related factors, shifting focus toward possible technical malfunction or human error. Investigators are also examining maintenance logs, crew training history, and ATC recordings from the night of the crash.

The ill-fated aircraft, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was en route from Mumbai to Dubai when it lost contact with air traffic control shortly after takeoff and crashed near a field on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

International Oversight

Given the aircraft model and international nature of the flight, global aviation bodies including Boeing’s technical team and ICAO observers are expected to assist in the inquiry.

Families Await Closure

Meanwhile, families of the 182 victims are still waiting for answers. The government has promised full transparency and announced financial compensation to the affected families.

🕊️ Singh News Media extends heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and will continue to provide verified updates on the investigation as more details emerge.
