A tragic accident in Saudi Arabia has claimed the lives of 45 Indian pilgrims who were travelling from Mecca to Medina for Umrah. The bus carrying the group collided with a diesel tanker, causing a massive fire that engulfed the vehicle within minutes.
According to local authorities, the intensity of the flames was so high that passengers had no time to escape. The driver of the bus was the only survivor, managing to jump out moments before the fire spread. He has been admitted to a nearby hospital with burn injuries.
Rescue teams, civil defence personnel, and police units rushed to the site, but the blaze had already destroyed the bus completely. Officials have begun the process of identifying the victims and coordinating with the Indian embassy for assistance.
Preliminary reports suggest that the collision occurred on a stretch of road known for heavy tanker movement, though the exact cause is still under investigation. The Indian government has expressed deep grief over the tragedy and assured full support to the families of the victims.
